Case Study 3 (The Beast)

THE BEAST
The attraction/ride "The Beast" is a roller coaster at Kings Island in Ohio.

The purpose of this attraction is to bring people to one of the most famous wooden coasters ever. The attraction of the coaster is how big a wooden rollercoaster can get compared to the modern counterparts. You don't see too many big rollercoasters, but The Beast is an exception.
The Ride has a waiting line that is surrounded by forest and wooden walkways. Once you get to the end of the line and reach the cabin bay that has the coaster waiting for you, you see more trees, more wood, but now you see the track and the red coaster waiting. The bay has a tiger claw as the symbol of the ride because of how thrilling the ride is and they need something to really give that feeling through a simple graphic. After hoping into the coaster seat all there is around you are the people waiting and the track. You starting getting pulled towards the outside and then you're launched into the track. Throughout the experience you go through many ups and downs, and sometimes very sharp turns and into tunnels that make it almost pitch black while inside. The ride its self if mainly more trees as the environment around it, but you don't notice that as much as all the amazing scaffolding that hold the system up. The duration of the ride is around 4:30 seconds and once you complete the ride you get off on the other side of where you started and walk into the exit path.
The story being told on this coaster is how amazing engineers can be when tasked with making one of the biggest wooden roller-coaster ever in 1979. They wanted to make a super big coaster inside of a forested area which is why they named it "The Beast" because of its location in a non touched terrain surrounding. Kings Island have kept this coaster up even with all the metal new coasters that allow people to go upside-down and do even more things than a wooden one can. They want people to be able to experience what roller-coasters were like before the new generation of coasters. They tell this story by immersing you into a wooden coaster that can deliver the same thrill as a modern steel coaster anywhere else.

There are many types of themes that come from "The Beast" such as
-Power
-Thrill
-Wooden
-Pre-modern
and more

These theming's are things such as Enviromental theming, Historical Theming, and Cultural theming.
What's the market?
The market for this is through themed attractions in parks such as Kings Island, 6 Flags, Disney and more. The people who are giving this market are lands that deliver themed entertainment through rides, food, entertainment, and environment. The people searching for this market are ones who have extra money who want to experience a different perspective of thrill through coasters. These people could want just an all out thrill fest or want something that has a in depth story to it like the ones at Disney.
Revenue?
The revenue streams for "The Beast" are about what any other roller-coaster ride would deliver. They receive their income from sponsorships, the brand, tickets for the ride, merchandise such as clothes, and pictures. Their main known source of income is from people buying the tickets to get into the ride and the merchandise people buy after riding it to show they rode "The Beast". Considering that "The Beast" has been standing very tall and well for so long I would assume the throughput is very good.
What could be changed?
I believe that "The Beast" is in a very good position right now and I don't think anything should be changed. I don't think they should do anything from adding anything to changing the lighting in it. The main purpose is to keep what was made and preserve it. If someone starts to change it many people will be frustrated I would assume and it would take away how amazing it is for when it was made. Again I would say this themed attraction ride is at a very solid state right now and I don't think there should be a thing changed to it.
